SARRALLE is pleased to announce the successful startup of the new greenfield meltshop at AMNS Calvert in Alabama, USA. This milestone marks a significant achievement for both our company and our valued client, AM/NS Calvert LLC—a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel Corporation.

This state-of-the-art steelmaking facility is designed to produce 1.5 million metric tons of steel annually, supporting the automotive and industrial markets across North America.

The plant features the following latest-generation equipment supplied by SARRALLE:

• Sarralle Blue Efficient Arc, a 180-tonne DC Electric Arc Furnace.

• A 180-tonne Twin Ladle Furnace.

• A material handling plant to supply a series of workstations, including the addition of pre-reduced materials to the Electric Arc Furnace.

• Sarralle Bluesky Plant, the latest-generation fume treatment system by Sarralle.

• The Statcom system, to comply with the strictest requirements of the power grid.

• Other auxiliary equipment that complements the main ones mentioned above.

The plant also includes a Degasser (RH) and a Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) .

Beyond advancing technological capabilities, this project represents a bold investment in the future of Alabama’s industrial landscape—promoting economic growth and creating local employment opportunities.

SARRALLE se complace en anunciar la exitosa puesta en marcha de la nueva acería greenfield en AMNS Calvert, en Alabama (EE.UU.). Este hito representa un importante logro tanto para nuestra compañía como para nuestro apreciado cliente, AM/NS Calvert LLC, una empresa conjunta entre ArcelorMittal y Nippon Steel Corporation.

Esta moderna instalación siderúrgica está diseñada para producir 1,5 millones de toneladas métricas de acero al año, dando soporte a los mercados automotriz e industrial en toda Norteamérica.

La planta incorpora el siguiente equipamiento de última generación suministrado por SARRALLE:

• Sarralle Blue Efficient Arc, Horno de Arco Eléctrico DC de 180t.

• Horno de Cuchara doble (Twin Ladle Furnace) de 180t.

• Una planta de manipulación de materiales que alimenta a varias estaciones operativas incluyendo la adición de materiales pre-reducidos al Horno de Arco Eléctrico.

• Sarralle Bluesky Plant, el sistema de extracción de humos de última generación de Sarralle.

• El sistema Statcom, para cumplir las más estrictas regulaciones de red eléctrica.

• Otros equipos auxiliares que complementan a los equipos principales citados anteriormente.

La planta también cuenta con un desgasificador (RH)y una máquina de colada continua (CCM) .
