At Sarralle we stay with every steelmaking project from start to finish: we design it, build it, install it and start it up.
A steel plant is a chain of decisions that depend on one another. What is defined on a drawing shapes how each piece of equipment is built, and what is built shapes how it is installed and how it starts up. When each phase is handled by a different company, part of that knowledge gets lost along the way. That is why we work on a simple idea at Sarralle: the team that designs the plant is the team that builds it and hands it over running.
Engineering: it all starts with the customer’s process
Every project begins by understanding what the customer needs to produce, and under what conditions. From there, our engineering team develops the complete solution: process, mechanical design, electrics and automation. We work on 3D models that let us study each piece of equipment, and how it fits into the plant, before the first plate is cut.
Manufacturing: from model to steel
What we design, we build in our own workshops. Having the engineering office close to the shop floor is one of our biggest advantages: the people who designed the equipment can watch it take shape, answer questions as they come up and check that every part does what it was meant to do. Equipment is pre-assembled and inspected before it leaves for site, so what arrives has already been verified.
Erection and commissioning: until the plant is producing
On site, our teams take care of the installation and supervise each stage of erection. Then come the tests, the adjustments and the start-up, working alongside the customer’s own people. We don’t consider the job finished when the equipment is installed, but when it runs as it should.
One point of responsibility
For the customer, this model means a single partner throughout the project, better coordinated schedules and less risk where problems usually appear: the handovers between one phase and the next. For us, it means answering for the whole installation.
From engineering to commissioning, we make every project our own.

The same three points to confirm apply here: in-house electrics and automation, workshop pre-assembly before shipping, and erection done or supervised by Sarralle staff.
