Sarralle Rolling Mill celebrates its latest Final Acceptance Certificate for the New Hot Charging System to transfer hot billet in a direct and automated way from the continuous casting to the feeding of the furnace of the rolling mill for Megasider Zaragoza, Spain.
Megasider belongs to the Megasa Group, a family business specialized in the production and distribution of long steel products. This mill is specialised in merchant bars, with a wide range of dimensions and grades being produced. The range also includes rebar and some sections.
The new system installed by SARRALLE allows two evacuation lines at the exit to the rolling mill:
A new hot outlet, to transport the hot billets with the minimum possible temperature loss, to the loading table of the reheating furnace.
The current cold exit to the train-side-cooler, which must be kept operational.
The scope of the project has include the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Assembly and Commissioning of the equipment and wiht this new charging system Megasider Zaragoza reduces the natural gas consumption in the rolling mill reheating furnace, also reducing emissions to the atmosphere, while improving the energy efficiency of its production process.

Sarralle Rolling Mill celebra la firma del Certificado de Aceptación Final del Nuevo Sistema de Carga en Caliente para trasladar la palanquilla caliente de una forma directa y automatizada desde la colada continua hasta la alimentación del horno del tren de laminación para Megasider Zaragoza , España.
Megasider pertenece al Grupo Megasa, empresa familiar especializada en la producción y distribución de productos siderúrgicos largos. Esta planta está especializada en la fabricación de perfiles comerciales, con una amplia gama de dimensiones y calidades. Completa su oferta con corrugado y algunos perfiles estructurales.
El nuevo sistema instalado por SARRALLE permite dos líneas de evacuación en la salida hacia el tren de laminación:
Una salida caliente nueva, para transportar las palanquillas calientes con la mínima pérdida de temperatura posible, hasta la mesa de carga del horno de recalentamiento.
La salida fría actual hacia el enfriadero del lado tren, que se deberá de mantener operativa.
El alcance del proyecto ha comprendido la Ingeniería, Fabricación, Compras, Montaje y Puesta en Marcha de los equipos y con esta nueva carga en caliente Megasider Zaragoza ha conseguido reducir directamente el consumo de gas natural en el horno de recalentamiento disminuyendo también las emisiones a la atmósfera, mejorando a su vez la eficiencia energética de su proceso productivo.
