EL CORREO launches a special edition in relation to the H-ACERO project, hydrogen application in the steel industry.

 

EL CORREO, the most read newspaper in Vizcaya and Alava issued a special edition this week regarding the H-ACERO project focusing on the climate neutrality of the steel industry based on new technologies and processes with intensive application of the renewable hydrogen as an alternative and complementary fuel to natural gas.

 

The impression highlights the leadership of Sarralle at the BASQUE HYDROGEN CORRIDOR (BH2C), the signature of the MOU of the same and our contribution to a more sustainable steel industry. The consortium consisting of ten companies, led by Sarralle, will work during the next three years in the search for solutions with the collaboration of four agents of the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation.

 

The Steel industry contributes around 35% of industrial GDP in the Basque Country and to continue with the good figures, we need to face a future that is marked by the demands of the European Union to achieve an economy free of carbon by 2050, a full-blown challenge.

 

Itsaso Auzmendi, Hydrogen Development Manager of SARRALLE, emphasizes on the agreement with Nippon Gases for the marketing and manufacture of hydrogen-based burners, which will enable hydrogen to reach the facilities on an industrial scale faster.
