II Edition of SARRALLE GROW scholarship

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 brings two important reflections to the table: the need to have a powerful health, technological and scientific sector and professionals to be able to face the continuous challenges that occur almost on a daily basis in these sectors. On the other hand, the serious world economic-social crisis that is looming for families, where the Basque Country is no exception.

Aware of this situation, SARRALLE continues to bet on the II Edition of the SARRALLE GROW scholarship, where it combines its contribution to both social and economic needs. First, promoting the awakening in women to start their studies in these scientific-technological sectors with the aim to contribute their presence in managerial positions, and second; helping families with a weak economy touched by COVID-19 to support the university studies of their daughters.

This summer the two students awarded by the 1st Edition of SARRALLE GROW scholarship; Leire Martín and Malen Sanz Ruiz de Erenchun, will start their online work experience as a consequence of the pandemic caused by the Covid 19 crisis, which has forced many companies to adapt the way of working and develop telework in those cases where it is possible to do so.

Summer work experience is going to be different than I expected given the current situation, but I think it will be just as positive for me.

I believe that the initiative is of great help both in the fight to achieve gender equality, and for the help it provides economically, especially in these times. I wish there were more initiatives like this one!

Leire Martín - Double degree in Business Administration and Management + the Law Degree at the University of Deusto in Donostia,
